Publication Ethics & Malpractice Policy

FutureGen International Journal of Science and Technology follows strict ethical standards in publishing. The journal is committed to honesty, transparency, and academic integrity. It follows the guidelines and best practices suggested by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

All authors, editors, and reviewers must:

  • Submit original and genuine research work
  • Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification
  • Properly cite and acknowledge all sources
  • Follow ethical research and referencing practices

Editors make decisions based only on the quality and merit of the research. Any unethical behavior will lead to actions such as rejection or withdrawal of the article.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism.

  • All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection tools like iThenticate or similar software
  • The allowed similarity level is up to 20% (excluding references and common phrases)

If the similarity is higher:

  • The paper may be rejected, or
  • Sent back to the author for correction, depending on the seriousness

Self-plagiarism and duplicate publication are strictly not allowed.

Retraction & Correction Policy

The journal may retract or correct published articles in the following cases:

  • Proven plagiarism
  • Ethical misconduct
  • Data manipulation or major errors
  • Duplicate or repeated publication
  • Minor errors will be corrected without affecting the main findings
  • Retracted articles will be clearly marked on the journal website with proper reasons

Retraction decisions are taken by the Editor-in-Chief along with the editorial board.

Conflict of Interest Policy

All authors, editors, and reviewers must declare any conflict of interest, including financial, academic, or personal relationships.

  • Editors and reviewers will not handle papers where there is a conflict
  • Editorial board members submitting papers will not take part in their own review process

The journal ensures full transparency and fairness at every stage.

AI-Generated Content Policy

The use of AI tools (such as ChatGPT) is allowed only for:

  • Improving language
  • Correcting grammar

However:

  • AI must not be used to create research data, analysis, or conclusions
  • Authors are fully responsible for their work
  • Any major use of AI tools must be clearly mentioned

The journal may reject papers that depend too much on AI-generated content without proper academic responsibility.
